Our story

How we got here

2018

Project Climbing is founded in Melbourne by two passionate climbers.

2020

A training area with campus board and spray wall for Boulder Project, and climbing holds for The Brain Train in Port Melbourne.

2021

“The Barrel” annex at La Roca, a large overhanging prow at Climb West, a public outdoor wall for Ararat Rural City Council and a therapy wall for Moore Intensive Therapy Studio.

2022

Demolition and complete rejuvenation of Cliffhanger Climbing Gym, a pillar of the Melbourne climbing community.

2023 – 2024

The Footscray Community Bouldering Wall extension, Jean Street Reserve, route setting for Scouts Victoria and the Southbank community wall, and a new climbing wall for Knox Gymnastic Club.

Today

Climbing holds from more than 25 brands, and an independent AS 2316 inspection service across Australia and New Zealand.

Climbing, engineering and industry leadership

Our team brings together deep climbing experience with engineering and industry leadership.

  • Wall inspections led by a qualified engineer on the Standards Australia committee reviewing AS 2316, a former President of Sport Climbing Australia, a former board member of World Climbing and an expert witness in climbing facility cases across Australia and New Zealand
  • Route setting led by a qualified National Head Route Setter, with state and national-level competition setting experience
  • Coaches who work with climbers of all ages, from first-timers to high-performance athletes
