Made in Australia, by a friend of ours
Druid Holds is a small Australian maker run by Ben Dalby. Ben designs every shape himself, mills it from birch plywood and finishes each hold by hand. He's a good friend of the Project Climbing team and we work closely together, so the full Druid range is right here in our shop, ready to order alongside everything else for your wall.
- Milled from birch plywood, then sanded and finished by hand
- Grippy without being abrasive, so it's easy on your skin over long sessions
- Made with a focus on sustainable, low-waste production
- Many sets are named after myths and legends: Selkies, Tidecallers, the Dolmen Series
Why climb on wooden holds?
Wood has long been a favourite for training boards and home walls. Here's why climbers keep coming back to it.
Kind on your skin
Wood is grippy without the sharp texture of resin holds, so you can climb longer and save your skin for the next session.
Honest friction
Wooden holds don't let you cheat: good holds feel great, and slopers ask for real body tension and a precise grip.
Made to be reset
Bolt-on and screw-on options, flat-backed Dolmen holds and shims let you stack, tune and re-angle your holds to keep your wall fresh.

Raw, painted or textured
Most Druid holds come raw: sanded smooth and left natural, so the wood does the gripping. Ben also makes holds with textured, painted faces, a dual texture finish that shows off the ply around it.
- Raw holds: natural birch ply, sanded smooth and kind on the skin
- Downclimbing Jugs: raw, painted, or textured and painted, in your choice of colour
- Every set is made to order and ready to ship in about a week

Druid Holds FAQ
Who makes Druid Holds?
Ben Dalby, a small Australian maker and a good friend of ours. Ben designs the shapes, mills them from birch plywood and finishes every hold by hand. We work closely with him, and you can order the full Druid range in our shop.
Are wooden holds good for a home wall or training board?
Yes. Wood is grippy without being abrasive, so it's easy on your skin on a wall you climb again and again. That's why it's a favourite for home walls and training boards. The Druid range covers crimps, pockets, pinches, jugs, slopers, footers and macros.
How long does a Druid order take?
Druid holds are made to order and are usually ready to ship within about a week. We ship Australia-wide.
Can I get Druid holds painted?
The Downclimbing Jugs come raw, painted, or textured and painted, in your choice of colour. The rest of the range comes raw, in natural birch ply.
What are plates, wedges and ring slices for?
They sit underneath another hold to change its angle: make a sloper more positive or an edge less incut, or stack them to get the angle just right. It's a simple way to get more out of the holds you already have. See the Plates.
